Soup Night with Friends - Plus, The Zoe Report

Kamilah here, and if you’re like me, you’re excited that it is now officially autumn.

Fall provides plenty of opportunities to spend time with the people you care about. Of course, I realize that thinking of entertaining can sometimes bring on a sense of anxiety regarding all the logistics involved. But it doesn’t have to be the way! In fact, that’s exactly why I love hosting soup night. In the midst of your busy schedule, soup night makes a fantastically easy and uncomplicated way to foster community in your life.
Making the soup itself doesn’t have to be a labor-intensive task which keeps you in the kitchen all day. You can even just grab the key ingredients from your local Whole Foods or farmers’ market — such as a stock of bone broth or vegetable soup along with whatever meat, veggies, and spices you want to add. You don’t have to start cooking until the night of, and you can simply enlist your guests to bring specific elements (say, baguettes, cheese, or wine) along with them.

Not only is soup nourishing and comforting, it also provides a connection point for the evening. Everyone can grab their bowl of soup and go outside, or simply hang out around the kitchen — whatever feels comfortable. The soup acts as a centerpiece which everyone can gather around and share family-style, enjoying conversation in a relaxed, welcoming environment. It’s a great way to start your own seasonal tradition.

Why I Love Lafayette Wine Glasses

Among my favorite and most consistently placed pieces from Caravan are the Lafayette Wine GlassesThe classic look of these glasses is key when I’m serving a signature mixed drink during an autumn dinner party. I’m a very tactile and visual person, so I love that the intricately layered stems look and feel great when sharing a toast with friends.

The generous size of each glass is fitting for presentation and makes an aesthetically pleasing complement to any seasonally themed party or casual get-together with friends. These glasses allow me to be creative, whether I’m visually planning table setting or choosing a signature cocktail with an eye-catching garnish. In short, these glasses are both pretty and functional — an ideal combination.
